Vincent

This is Vincent coming home from church on Sunday.  He pretty much undresses in the car, taking off his shirt and tie and anything else he can before we get home.  I caught him and try to take a picture - I don't know what we girls would do without him - he makes us laugh a lot!

Crazy Kids

This picture can never fully be explained.  Vincent's sisters will always remember it though!  Vincent can be our resident comedian.  As I was putting the kids to bed we were listening to lullabies.  Vincent left the girls room and came back dressed  in one of their dress-up clothes little slips and danced for them all.  We all went to bed giggling that night.

I love that these two are still so close.  They even made a bed in the girls closet one night to sleep in so Vincent wouldn't have to sleep alone in his room.

Lauren Skiiing

as per an email Chris sent in February:

In colder news, Lauren, being a newly minted 5-year old, had her skiing debut last Thursday. Attached pic was taken when we were finally suited up and ready to tackle the mountain. The first run was rough, as it usually is, and she initially seemed more inclined to making snow angels, throwing snow balls at me, and sliding down a small sled run on her back with her legs up in the air. But she stuck with it like the trooper she is and had skiing figured out after just a few more runs. From that point she refused to stop and we kept skiing til 6 pm. 

Opening Day

Here's a pic of Vince looking ready at 1st base. Opening day was Saturday. Since this year there are several boys on his team that are capable of fielding a ball and throwing it to first base, he combined with them to make a bunch of outs at 1st. He also made a double-play by catching a pop-fly and tagging first (the first base runner went to second without tagging up and so Vince got him out too after Vince's coaches reminded him to tag base).

He also got a hit at each of his 3 at-bats. So I told him after the game that his batting average is 1000. He said he wants to keep it up next game so his average goes higher than 1000. I started explaining to him that that isn't technically possible but then realized that an understanding of averages and percentages isn't a prerequisite to playing little league.

 Wondering where I've been for, oh, almost a year?  Just a few pictures to recap. 

 Resident funny man dressed in sisters shirt, socks & underwear.  Oh, and those who know Hadley's imagination can appreicate that this was probably a 'really good story character' she was playing in the backyard.  (I took the picture from in the window.)

 Umm, hello, somebody turned 5!  She looks soooo old in this photo.  Kindergarten here she comes!

 We take our painting very seriously as well as our safety eyewear.

 Hadley survived minor surgery to remove bony mass on one of her fingers.  Just in time for her piano teacher to get married and leave us.  She was in a cast for a couple of weeks.

 Lots and lots and lots of Disneyland.

Happy Birthday Hadley!

 Hadley turned 8!  8 years old!  Wow.  It is a big birthday for her and for it she chose to go whale-watching.  If you haven't talked to her lately you wouldn't know that she is VERY interested in whales.  Thus, going whale-watching fulfilled a great passion for her.  She had a great time with Daddy and Papa and saw a blue whale and lots of dolphins.  Afterwards we had a little party to celebrate August birthdays: Chris, Hadley, Mom (Gma) and Gentry.

The girls got lots of fun gifts this year: paper dolls, play food, book on whales, fashion plates.  The evening before we were with Gma & Gpa Tigger where Hadley got to go fabric shopping with grandma who is going to make her a colonial dress, chocolate chip pancakes for dinner and donuts for dessert!

And today we went to the Grove Theatre in Upland to see Cinderella.  It was fun to go with Molly and meet up with Gma and Pat Skousen.  Afterwards we went to Pat's house and had snow cones.  Wow, this is turning into a birthday weekend!
