Baby Heaven

Last week we met the cousins at Gma & Gpas. Lauren and Gentry were in baby heaven when they met the triplets. Lauren was so excited when we got there and one of the babies was awake to play with. She had no idea and couldn't believe it when another one woke up, and then another! Gentry loved seeing the babies and teaching them how to really play with the baby toys.

Gentry

Gentry still hates her car seat. This makes some days more difficult than others but Tuesdays are the worst. I have to wake her from her nap early to take Hadley to superstar class, burn an hour (usually in and out of the car seat twice), pick up Hadley, sit in a lot of traffic, go to dinner with friends, eat, get in the car again, etc. Hence the icee from Target and bag of eaten marshmallows, that's right marshmallows, in her lap.

Spring Fling

Spring Fling at Hadley's school this year was much anticipated. Not to mention the AZ cousins who were staying with us and we got to hang out with every morning while they were on their family vacation. That was very exciting for the kids.

This little gal won first place in her grade's cake decorating contest. We made a castle-shaped cake and decorated it with all kinds of candy and a dusting of powdered sugar.

Vincent got to put his name up on the radar gun fastest throwing time. He clocked one at 24 mph to beat out the previous preschooler.

And Hadley and Lauren got pony rides as well as playing in the bounce houses, carnival games, treats, etc.

Afterwards, we had to get home to meet the cousins and A.Molly on their way back from Knott's Berry Farm with Portillos! yummy

OVERHEARD

(I just came across this note I wrote to myself to remind me of a prayer told by Hadley with Vincent & Lauren before last Christmas. Mind you, it was not during their nightly prayers, I just heard someone suggest that they should say a prayer so I started listening in.) Awww, a mother's pride . . . oh wait . . .

HADLEY: Please bless us that we didn't make foolish choices in the toy catalog and bless us that we'll all get presents and none of us will get coal.

Just In Case . . .

If you ever find a plate of cookies on your doorstep with a hand drawn note - signed The Johnsons - please know our intentions were good.

A couple weeks ago we made tons of cookies to deliver and Hadley excitedly offered to make pictures and write some poems for them. I wish I could translate them better or that they were more clear:

Water means help. Water means love. And rainbows mean we like you.

Blueberries mean ??? Muffins mean ??? And you mean help.

Christ means laughter. Cake means gooey and we like you.

P.S. (Bless her little heart - and no, we ended up not delivering any cookies b/c Lauren got sick that night and Chris was out of town - I was kind of relieved!)

Last week Sylva met us with her truck to help me with a craigslist purchase I made in La Habra. It just so happened to be around the corner about 8-10 houses away from the home she grew up in! 1320 Antoinette

We came home, went to lunch and got frozen yogurt all in time to beat a huge rain storm that was on its way. Thanks Grandma Sylva!
